Viola Davis Skips Wig & Rocks her Natural for Oscars Red Carpet




















Viola Davis stepped on to the Oscar's red carpet in a beautiful, strapless emerald green Vera Wang gown and said she purposefully skipped the wig she wears on red carpets and for film roles. It is the first time the actress has rocked her natural short locks on a worldwide stage, and she says her husband, Julius Tennon, saw it as a potential opportunity for empowerment.  "My husband wanted me to take the wig off," she told InStyle at a pre-Oscar dinner in Los Angeles. "He said, 'If you want to wear it for your career, that's fine, but in your life wear your hair. Step into who you are!'"
And while Viola has said she's not giving up the wigs for good, wearing her own hair was an excellent choice for a big event like the Oscars. Perhaps she is preparing for a win and a chance to make a statement about her au naturel appearance? Win or lose, the natural look ended up being an excellent choice, proving her family knew best.

What we recommend is that people consume daily the amount of cholesterol that is roughly in one egg yolk. So you can get cholesterol from other animal products. Potato and Bean Enchiladas

Ingredients


1 pound potatoes, peeled and diced

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon ketchup

1 pound fresh tomatillos, husks removed

1 large onion, chopped

1 bunch fresh cilantro, coarsely chopped, divided

2 (12 ounce) packages corn tortilla

1 (15.5 ounce) can pinto beans, drained

1 (12 ounce) package queso fresco

oil for frying

Directions

1.Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C). In a bowl, toss diced potatoes together with cumin, chili powder, salt, and ketchup, and place in an oiled baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until tender.

2.Meanwhile, boil tomatillos and chopped onion in water to cover for 10 minutes. Set aside to cool. Once cooled, puree with half of the cilantro until smooth.

3.Fry tortillas individually in a small amount of hot oil until soft.

4.Mix potatoes together with pinto beans, 1/2 cheese, and 1/2 cilantro. Fill tortillas with potato mixture, and roll up. Place seam side down in an oiled 9x13 inch baking dish. Spoon tomatillo sauce over enchiladas, and spread remaining cheese over sauce. Bake for 20 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.

The best way to start your Candida treatment program is with a good cleanse. This is Stage One of the diet, your first step towards beating your Candida infestation. This cleanse is about restoring your body to health, boosting your immune system, and eliminating as much of the Candida yeast and its toxic byproducts as possible. Cleansing starts the hard work of beating your Candida, and prepares your intestine for the diet, probiotics and antifungals that will form the rest of your treatment.



The benefits of a good cleanse actually go far beyond treating Candida. Regular cleansers report more energy, improved mood, better digestion, weight loss and improved concentration. For Candida sufferers in particular, it offers the possibility of cleaning out the debris from your intestine, flushing out the Candida yeast and exposing the rest so that other Candida treatments can kill it.



Cleansing is an integral part of the diet, but there are many different ways to do an effective cleanse. We’ve outlined two straightforward and effective options below - a simple detoxing diet and a more powerful colon cleanse. Before you start your cleanse

Eliminate Risk Factors for Candida

There are many other possible causes of Candida overgrowth, and now is the time to eliminate them from your life. Snacks or sodas with high sugar content are a major culprit, but its not all about your diet. Antibiotics are also a primary cause of Candidiasis, so make sure you don’t get them unless you absolutely need them! Contraceptives like the Pill have also been found to cause Candida, as have stress, smoking, parasites and even mercury in old fillings. That’s a wide range of possible causes, and we haven’t even mentioned things like diabetes yet. Eliminate what you can, and concentrate on improving your diet and cleansing your system. Are you ready for Candida Die-Off?

If you do the cleanse correctly and start to eliminate your Candida, you may find yourself suffering from something called Candida Die-Off. This can manifest itself in symptoms ranging from nausea and headaches to sweating or even itchiness, but its nothing to worry about. Simply put, the symptoms of die-off occur when your Candida diet is working! It is actually the result of large numbers of Candida yeast cells being killed and releasing toxic byproducts into your bloodstream. To reduce the symptoms, drink lots of water, try a sauna or a hot bath and take some Vitamin C supplements. Read about some more coping methods in our Candida Die-Off section. You can also try using supplements like Molybdenum and Milk Thistle to help expel the toxins.



The Cleanse

As we mentioned earlier, there are many different ways to do a cleanse. Here we have listed two tried-and-tested protocols that we have followed successfully in the past. The cleanse that you choose will depend largely on what you can fit around your daily routine. If you have kids or you work full-time, you might find it hard to complete the colon cleanse here. In that case, stick to the easier detoxing diet. When you have read through both alternatives and made your choice, read on to the next section to discover some ways to make your cleanse more effective.



Option 1: A detoxing diet (the easier option)

This is a strict (but very healthy) diet, with some detox drinks and a liver flush added too. Think about what you eat each day. Fast food is overloaded with additives, beef has added growth hormone, and fish are full of the various chemicals that are pumped into the oceans. You can do a very effective detox just by cutting out these toxins, without necessarily doing a colon cleanse. Eating fresh, organically grown vegetables is a great start and will stop any more toxins from entering your system. Always remember to drink lots of water too.



Eat only raw salads and steamed vegetables

Buy organic if you can

Drink a detox drink (recipe) twice each day

Drink a liver flush (recipe) every evening, at least two hours after your last detox drink

Do the cleanse for 7-14 days

Avoid starchy vegetables such as sweet potatoes, potatoes, yams, corn, all winter squash except zucchini, beets, peas and parsnips. They all contain sugar and can lead to Candida overgrowth. Raw salads and steamed vegetables might not sound that exciting, but you can use salt, pepper, lemon juice and various herbs and spices to liven them up. See our list of foods that you can eat while on the cleanse for more information.



The detox drinks must be taken on an empty stomach, so don't eat anything for an hour before and after you drink it. The easiest times are usually first thing in the morning, in the afternoon, and two hours before bedtime.



Note: If you are experiencing an irregular heartbeat, nausea or any other worrying symptoms, you should stop the cleanse immediately and consult your health professional.



Option 2: A colon cleanse (the more difficult option)

This option is a great way to start off your Candida elimination program. There really is no better way to flush out your system. However it can be quite draining, so if you have a full time job its best to take some time off and relax in a comfortable environment. Typically a colon cleanse will last for 3 days to a week. You can add colonic irrigation sessions if you feel up to it (see below).



A 7 Day Colon Cleanse

Here's a 7 day plan that you can use for your detox. Of course this is just a rough outline, you don't need to follow it exactly.



8:00am .... Detox drink (see recipe)

10:00am .. Broth soup (see recipe)

1:00pm .... Detox drink

3:00pm .... Broth soup

5:00pm .... Detox drink

7:00pm .... Liver flush drink (see recipe)



Be sure to keep drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated and to flush away toxins. You can make things easier on yourself by preparing large amounts of broth soup once every two days.



This type of cleanse is generally very safe, but if you have any health problems or concerns, please make sure you consult your doctor before starting. If you are experiencing an irregular heartbeat, nausea or any other worrying symptoms, you should stop the cleanse immediately and consult your health professional.



Recipes for your cleanse

RECIPE: VEGETABLE BROTH

3-4 potatoes, peeled and diced

1 small onion, diced

3-4 stalks of fresh grown celery, thinly sliced

1-2 fresh grown carrots, thinly sliced

Cayenne pepper (optional)

1 large handful of greens such as kale or chard, chopped



Place ingredients in 3 quarts (about 3 liters) of pure or distilled water. Bring to boil and simmer for 20 minutes, strain the liquid and discard the veggies. If you'd like to spice it up a little, throw in some cayenne pepper. You should drink 2-3 bowls of this vegetable broth each day to replace depleted minerals. Use organic vegetables if possible!



You might be wondering, "If potatoes and carrots are on the Candida Foods To Avoid list, why are they in the vegetable broth?". Well, the key is that you are discarding the vegetables before you drink the broth. This mean you are getting vitamins and minerals of the vegetables, but without the carbs that would feed your Candida!



RECIPE: DETOX DRINK

1 large cup of water

1 flat tablespoon of soluble fiber

1 flat tablespoon of Bentonite Clay



For the soluble fiber, there are several different options. Psyllium husk is very effective, but can be quite harsh on the intestines for those who suffer from Leaky Gut Syndrome. Other good alternatives are Acacia Powder and Pure Apple Fiber. We especially like Fiber-3 by NOW Foods - it contains soluble fiber from Golden Flax Meal and Acacia, plus Inulin as a prebiotic.



The Bentonite clay doesn't mix well with water, so shake up the mixture for a few seconds then quickly drink it before it settles. Drink another extra large glass of water immediately after. Both these ingredients are great for detox. The Bentonite clay soaks up toxins, and the soluble fiber pushes waste matter out through your colon.



RECIPE: LIVER FLUSH DRINK

1 cup water

1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

1 clove of garlic

Small chunk of fresh ginger



Just blend all the ingredients together and drink.



How can I make my cleanse more effective?

No matter which cleanse you choose to do, there are certain ways to make it more effective. The right combination of treatments will shorten the duration of your cleanse and reduce the chances of side effects. We’ve listed a few here for you to try. You can use these with either of the cleanses listed above.

Colonic Irrigation

Colonic irrigation is really not as daunting as it sounds, and it can make your cleanse much more effective. It acts to loosen and expel the hardened fecal matter within your intestine, eliminating the Candida yeast and its byproducts much more quickly than you can by diet alone.



During a session of colonic therapy, which typically lasts around 45 minutes, the patient lies down and is first given a gentle but firm massage in the lower stomach area. This is to loosen the materials that the colonic will expunge. A small, sterile and disposable plastic tube is then inserted into the rectum and warm water is passed into the colon. Clients typically report a warm feeling but often have little sensation of the colonic, although it can feel slightly uncomfortable the first time. The water is allowed to gently flow into your colon, then you push it out along with the fecal matter that it has loosened. This cycle repeats several times. Other liquids, often coffee, are then typically added to the water to further help with the loosening.



You can look online to find your local colonic therapist. He or she will be able to give you guidance as to how often you should get a treatment. For the purposes of the cleanse in Stage One of the diet, two or three sessions should be more than sufficient.

KS:  How often do you wash?

JSJ:  Spring to (fall) I might usually wash my hair between two or three times a week, in the winter once a week because its so cold and I prefer to air dry...not happy using a blowdryer or hood. 


KS:  Are you pro- sulfates or con?

JSJ:  Con sulfatesWhat shampoos do you use?


KS:  What oils or gels do you use?

JSJ:  n the past I used Fantasia 100% tea tree oil shampoo and/or Big handmade shampoo by Lush. Right now I am using Dudo Osun black soap (for my hair as well as my face).  I don't use any gels on my locks. Instead I use pure essential oils,carrier oils, extra virgin olive oil and 100% pure coconut oil. 


KS:  Have you ever had a dandruff problem, I did, but it was internal thing more than anything else?

JSJ:  Luckly I have never had a dandruff problem since I started locking my hair!


KS: What are your favorite products to use ?

JSJ: My favourite products are my essential and carrier oils mainly coconut oil and shea butter (I use the shea butter on my face mixed with carrier oils)


KS:  What is being natural to you?

JSJ:   Being natural to me is everything. I am promoting what God has given me and I'm proud of that, after all, the other races are sporting their natural hair so why shouldn't we? Also, I am proud to show everyone else how beautiful natural hair is and it's bringing results. I get lots of compliments and questions from both black and white people and at the moment one lady has just started Sisterlocks and three others are starting traditional locks as a result....I'm so happy when they come and ask me for advice or tips ( I work for a financial organisation so I'm constantly dealing with the public)

Kitty's Nearly Gone -Vegetarian...NOT FOR WEIGHTLOSS but I have 20lbs Loss so Far (Candida Albicans-Men & Women)
































So recently I've been having MAJOR problems with Psorias. EVERYWHERE! 

I've had issues similar to this in the past but never realized that it was all connected.  Someone told me about Candida years ago I knew that I had all the symptoms but didn't think they were all connected.

So I started researching and found out about candida which is the root cause of Psoriasis , Psoriasis in my case was the symptom, I wanted to get to the root. So I knew candida/ yeast/ AKA EATING TO MUCH SUGAR/ PROCESSED FOODS was the problem. I searched yeast free diet.....

I found a good site for recipes http://www.theyeastdiet.com/yeast-free-foods.html any way I try to take a negative and turn it into a positive and I realize the candida is a forwarning a signal telling me "Hey stupid stop feeding me that I don't need it and if you don't stop I will reek havoc on you" (in my Ike Turner voice)....This explains my emergency room visit with chest pains last year I thought I was having a heart attack.  After all the EKG's (heart attack tests) they said I had Chondritis which is ....guess...wait for it...inflammation ...of the tissue around my heart...they iv'd some cortizone in my blood its anti inflammatory it went away immediately then they gave me 600 mg of ibuphrofen which is anti inflamatory.  It also explains my constant battle with Flu's and Bronchitis since childhood.  You can pass Candida to your babies.   All of this could have been avoided had I of just stayed away from inflammatory yeast candida feeding processed sugar filled foods......hope this helps.  My symptoms went away.....................I do crave salads all the time now it used to be sweets before.

The world has lost another great talent. I was just thinking about her last week when I was watching her performance with Kim Burrell (another great talent) who you could tell stepped back and let the Queen have the floor. I was thinking Whitney really meant the words she sang, she sound as if she was reflecting on her life and realized what really matters and that the Lord still loves her NO MATTER WHAT!  The above is Her Last Performance sung on stage with Gospel Singer Kelly Price " Yes Jesus Loves Me".  Yes she was flawed and had issues but she knew the truth despite all that is Yes Jesus Did Love her.

In 2002 she told Diane Sawyer in 10 years (2012) she wanted to be retired, watched her daughter all grown up and being a great woman of God ----------

Whitney did see her dreams fulfilled. She was retired in a sense from secular music, her daughter is all grown up and she said being a great woman of God, her last performance was singing "Yes Jesus Loves Me" with Kelly Price on 2-9-12, th...is last performance being watched by millions ministers a message to the masses, which is God's heart of Love, she has already ministered to many more in her death then what she might have done in her lifetime preaching words and facing judgmental faces,  her dream still is being fulfilled through her legacy.. -Kitty

First of all, apple cider vinegar is a completely natural product: apple juice is fermented to hard apple cider, which is fermented a second time to apple cider vinegar. In integrating this natural product into our homes, we instantly decrease the consumption of unnatural chemicals in our daily lives.
Here are many other benefits of apple cider vinegar that can be applied to your lifestyle. Read the list below.
BEAUTY:
Hair: It is widely known that apple cider vinegar can be used as a rinse for your hair after shampooing to add healthy body and shine. Recycle an old shampoo bottle and fill it with 1/2 a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and a cup of cold water. Pour through your hair after shampooing several times a week.
Face: Did you know that apple cider vinegar can help regulate the pH of your skin? Dilute apple cider vinegar with two parts water, and spread the concoction over your face with a cotton ball as a toner. You can do this at night after washing, and in the morning before you apply your moisturizer. Soothe a sore throat. Put a teaspoon of vinegar
in a glass of water. Gargle, then swallow.


Cure for colds. Mix one-quarter cup Apple Cider
Vinegar with one-quarter cup honey.
Take one tablespoon six to eight times daily.


Relieve arthritis. Before each meal, drink a
glass of water containing two teaspoons
Apple Cider Vinegar.
Give it at least three weeks to start working.


Cure an upset stomach by drinking two teaspoons
Apple Cider Vinegar in one cup water.

The latest scientific word is that it doesn’t matter which diet you choose: What counts is calories and if you eat too many of them—in whatever form—you’ll gain weight.
If that notion sounds a bit old-fashioned or runs counter to your latest weight-loss strategy, think again. A study published on Jan. 4 in the Journal of the American Medical Association shows what happens when you consume too many calories. Researchers at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center randomly assigned 25 healthy young men and women an extra 1,000 calories a day on a low-protein diet, a high-protein diet or a normal-protein diet for eight weeks.
The volunteers all gained about the same amount of body fat, regardless of which eating plan they followed. The moral of the story? If you’re trying to slim down, remember that calories still count.

Here are 10 surprising facts about calories:

1. Why We’re Getting Fat

The average American eats 300 more calories daily than in 1985. Added sweeteners provide 23 percent of the extra calories; added fats provide another 24 percent.
Eating 300 extra calories a day for a year will pile on about 31 pounds. (Math hint: you have to eat 3,500 extra calories to gain one pound.) What’s more, one-third of Americans are getting nearly half of their daily calories from junk food, according the USDA.

2. Exercise Machines Lie about Calories

Don’t count on your treadmill to tell you how many calories you’re burning. A study from the University of California, San Francisco, found that, on average, exercise machines overestimate calories burned by 19 percent. The errors ranged from seven percent on a stationary bike to 42 percent on an elliptical machine.
For a more accurate count, experts suggest entering a slightly lower weight. You can also get a rough estimate of how many calories you’re burning per mile of running by multiplying your weight by 0.75. Multiply your weight by 0.53 for an estimate of calories burned per mile of walking.

3. Foods with Negative Calories

The idea here is that your body burns more calories in digesting certain foods, like celery, than the foods provide. Sorry. It’s just not so.

4. Fidget Away 350 Calories a Day

Lore from the famous fidgeting study has made the rounds since 2005 when a Mayo Clinic researcher showed that lean people burn 350 more calories daily than overweight people. That’s true, but twiddling your thumbs won’t do it.
The research actually showed that those lean people move more—they pace, they take the stairs, they spend two more hours a day on their feet than the not-so-lean. Try that and you may find yourself a lot lighter next year.

5. Low-Fat Doesn’t Mean Low-Cal

Feeling virtuous because you’re buying low-fat versions of your food favorites? Here’s an eye-opener: two tablespoons of reduced-fat peanut butter gives you 187 calories. The same amount of regular has 191 calories. Half a cup of fat-free vanilla frozen yogurt contains 100 calories, compared to 104 for the same amount of regular.

6. Most of Us Are Clueless about Calories

According to a 2010 survey by the International Food Information Council Foundation, only 11 percent of Americans can accurately estimate the number of calories they should consume daily for someone their age, height, weight and amount of physical activity.
Not you? Take this Pop Quiz: (1) How many calories are in two slices of pizza? (2) How many in a basket of chips at a Mexican restaurant? (Answers: 1) 1,000; 2) 550.)

7. Muffins v. Donuts

Which has more calories? That depends to some extent on the size of the muffin and the embellishments on the donut, but on average, the donut is likelier to be lower in calories, even if its fat content may not be desirable.

8. Serving Sizes Can Be Deceptive

It’s easy to be fooled by food labels, since some snack foods may look like a portion for one person, but list a calorie count based on three servings. That means you’re getting triple the calories you expected from eating the entire portion.
For foods like potato or corn chips, a serving size may be as little as one ounce, and few of us have the willpower to stop after such a small portion.

9. Kissing Burns 2 Calories Per Minute

So says Bryant Stamford, PhD, professor and director of the health promotion center at the University of Louisville.
For a more intense calorie blaster, lock lips in unusual positions, such as a yoga “plank pose,” or alternate smooches with pushups as your partner lies on the ground.

10. Sex Burns Even More Calories

A hot time between the sheets can torch 144 calories per half an hour—or more—and the longer lovemaking lasts, the greater the calorie burn.

I do believe she wore a baby bump however I do believe she was pregnant as well.
If I was her I would have done the same thing.  As an artist she wanted to bypass tabloids and tell the world during her performance that she was pregnant with no words.  If she had of done that at 3 months rubbing her belly on stage folks would have thought, what’s wrong does she have gas, did she eat to much.  Wearing the baby bump sends an obvious message she was preggers, artistic expression.  Notice she tries to stay private.  After that I think she is a paranoid pregnant lady (due to the previous miscarriage probably all the dancing) and probably wearing that prosthetic bump to keep her baby safe in case of a fall cause she was not giving up her Jimmy Choo stilettos, her other babies.
